Labour Migration

Recently the Czech Republic has become a popular destination country for many labour migrants. As a result, like that of many other countries, the labour market in the Czech Republic has experienced problems with the marginalization and exclusion of some migrant groups. At the same time, access to the labour market has a strong impact on the level of integration of immigrants who settle in the country permanently and also on the second and later generations of these migrants.

The world economic crisis, which broke out in the year 2008, has introduced significant changes to the issue of labour migration. The crisis of the world economic system has caused shifts in the migration policies of nation-states as well as in the strategies of labour migrants.

The theme was created under the project „Bringing Awareness of Development Issues into Regions“ which is co-financed by the European Union. The project is implemented by Caritas Czech Republic. The articles about this topic were also created with the support of Open Society Fund.
